This four-day course provides students with the foundational knowledge required to configure, verify, and troubleshoot devices that run Junos OS. Students will gain a wide variety of practical experience with using the command-line interface (CLI). The course focuses on routers and switches, and explains Layer 3 network interface basics, routing tables, static routes, OSPF, Layer 2 switchports, user accounts, firewall filters, routing policy, and troubleshooting. Particular attention is given to the power of the candidate configuration, rolling back changes, and the power of the Junos OS configuration hierarchy. The course also discusses the key architectural components of the software that powers Junos OS, the separation of the control plane and the data plane, and the reasons that Junos OS is built for automation. This two-day course provides a detailed coverage of IPv6 operations including neighbor discovery, ICMPv6, IPv6 protocol independent routing, OSPFv3, IS-IS, BGP, IPv6 multicast, transition methods, and troubleshooting methodology and commands supported by the Junos operating system (OS). Through demonstrations and hands-on labs, students will gain experience in configuring and monitoring Junos OS and in monitoring device and IPv6 protocol operations. This course uses Juniper Networks MX Series Routers for the hands-on component, but the lab environment does not preclude the course from being applicable to other Juniper hardware platforms running Junos OS. This course is based on Junos OS Release 22.2R1.9.

This two-day, intermediate-level course is designed to provide students with intermediate switching knowledge and configuration examples using Junos Enhanced Layer 2 Software. This course includes an overview of switching concepts and operations, virtual LANs (VLANs), the Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP), port and device security features, and high availability (HA) features. Through demonstrations and hands-on labs, students will gain experience in configuring and monitoring the Junos OS and in monitoring device operations. This course uses Juniper Networks EX4300-24T Series Ethernet Switches for the hands-on components, but the lab environment does not preclude the course from being applicable to other Juniper hardware platforms running the Junos OS. This course is based on Junos OS Release 21.4R3.

This four-day, intermediate-level course provides students with the knowledge required to work with Juniper Connected Security devices. This course uses Junos CLI, Junos Space® Security Director. The course provides further instruction on how Juniper Networks approaches a complete security solution for current and future security problems, called Juniper Connected Security. Key topics include tasks for intrusion detection and prevention (IDP) rules and custom attack objects, IPSec VPNs, Security Director management, Juniper® Advanced Threat Prevention management (ATP) Cloud management, Policy Enforcer management, Identity aware security policies, Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Proxy configuration, and Juniper Networks® SRX Series Firewalls high availability configuration and troubleshooting.

Through demonstrations and hands-on labs, students will gain experience in configuring and monitoring the Junos OS and monitoring basic device operations. The 1-day JNCIE-DC practical exam is designed to validate your ability to deploy, configure, manage, and troubleshoot Junos-based platforms using both Juniper Apstra and the Junos CLI. Throughout the 6-hour practical exam, you will build a data center network consisting of Juniper Apstra and multiple Junos devices. Notice: On May 5, 2025, we will be updating the exam for the Juniper Networks Certified Expert, Data Center (JNCIE-DC) certification. This is a minor update to align with current supported managed Data Center software versions. The Juniper Apstra version will be updated to 5.1.0 and we will be using the 23.4R2-S2 (vEX) vJunos-switch version. All other exam information and tasks will remain the same.

This exam is designed to validate the networking professionals’ ability to deploy, configure, manage, and troubleshoot Junos-based security platforms.
