Course Overview

This five-day course covers the configuration, operation, and implementation of SRX Series Services Gateways in a typical network environment. Key topics within this course include: security zones, security policies, Network Address Translation (NAT), IPsec VPNs, and chassis clustering.

Through demonstrations and hands-on labs, students will gain experience in configuring the Junos OS and monitoring device operations of Junos security devices. This course uses Juniper Networks SRX Series Services Gateways for the primary hands-on component.

This course is based on Junos OS Release 17.4R1.16, and the vSRX 2.0 virtual appliance.

Course Overview

This three-day course is designed to provide students with the knowledge required to manage the Junos Space appliance and manage devices with Junos Space. Students will understand how to install Junos Space into a multinode Space Fabric, as well as learn how to administer and monitor the Fabric. Centralized Junos device management options offered by the Junos Space Network Management Platform will be explored, including configuration backup, synchronization, Junos image distribution, and application of templates. Students will also learn how to use Junos Space applications, such as Service Now and Service Insight.

Through demonstrations and hands-on labs, students will gain experience installing Junos Space into a multinode Space Fabric, navigating the administrative environment, monitoring the Fabric, performing schema updates, and using Junos Space applications. This course uses the Junos Space virtual appliance for the hands-on component and is based on Junos Space Release 17.1R1.7.

Course Overview

This three-day course provides students with the foundational knowledge required to work with the Junos operating system and to configure Junos devices. The course provides a brief overview of the Junos device families and discusses the key architectural components of the software. Key topics include user interface options with a heavy focus on the command-line interface (CLI), configuration tasks typically associated with the initial setup of devices, interface configuration basics with configuration examples, secondary system configuration, and the basics of operational monitoring and maintenance of Junos devices. The course then delves into foundational routing knowledge and configuration examples including general routing concepts, routing policy, and firewall filters. Through demonstrations and hands-on labs, students will gain experience in configuring and monitoring the Junos OS and monitoring basic device operations. This two-day course is designed to provide students with a solid foundation on Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS). After introducing concepts such as MPLS forwarding and the structure of the MPLS header, the course will delve into the configuration and operation of the two main label distribution protocols, RSVP and LDP. Special emphasis is given to the central topics of traffic engineering and MPLS traffic protection, including fast reroute, link/node protection, and LDP loop-free alternate. The concepts are put into practice with a series of in-depth hands-on labs, which will allow participants to gain experience in configuring and monitoring MPLS on Junos OS devices. These hands-on labs utilize Juniper Networks vMX Series devices using the Junos OS Release 16.1R3.10, but are also applicable to other MX Series devices.
