USER AGREEMENT - Registering for a lab exam certifies that you agree to the following terms and conditions:
- Payment is due when you enroll for your lab exam. Your lab exam enrollment will not be confirmed until payment is received.
- Self Cancellation - if you must cancel or reschedule your lab exam enrollment, Juniper Networks will refund the enrollment fee in the form of a lab exam voucher with a 12-month validity period ONLY if your cancellation or reschedule notice is received at least thirty (30) days prior to the exam start date. Cancellations or rescheduling requests received within less than thirty (30) days from the exam start date are non-refundable. To cancel your exam enrollment, go to the Learning Portal home page, scroll down to the bottom, click on your exam enrollment, then hit the “Cancel Registration” button. To reschedule your exam, please contact us.
- Failure to Appear - if you do not appear for your scheduled exam session your enrollment fee will be forfeited, and your ability to reschedule may be restricted.
- Failure to Meet Testing Requirements - if you do not meet the testing requirements on the day of your exam (remote lab exam only), your enrollment fee will be forfeited and your ability to reschedule may be restricted.
- Juniper Cancellation - Juniper Networks reserves the right to postpone or cancel any lab exam event due to low enrollment or other circumstances beyond our control up to thirty (30) days prior to the event start date. We recommend that you make your travel arrangements not more than thirty (30) days in advance of the event start date. In the event that Juniper Networks postpones or cancels a lab exam event for any reason you will be reimbursed 100% of the exam enrollment fee in the form of a lab exam voucher with a 12-month validity period. Juniper Networks is not responsible for travel expenses incurred, including airline, hotel, rental car, or any other associated costs. Juniper Networks and their agents are not responsible for any loss or damage as a result of a substitution, alteration or cancellation/postponement of a lab exam event, and we shall assume no liability whatsoever in the event that a lab exam is cancelled, rescheduled or postponed due to a fortuitous event, Act of God, unforeseen occurrence or any other event that renders performance of the lab exam event impracticable, illegal or impossible. For purposes of this section, a fortuitous event shall include, but not be limited to war, fire, labor strike, extreme weather or another emergency.
- Refunds by Payment Method - specific terms and conditions apply regarding refunds as outlined above. To request a refund please contact us.
- Juniper Training Credits: enrollment fee will be credited back to the originating JTC agreement. If the JTC agreement has since expired or is close to expiration a lab exam voucher will be issued with a 12-month validity period.
- Purchase Order: a lab exam voucher will be issued with a 12-month validity period.
- Credit Card: a lab exam voucher will be issued with a 12-month validity period.
- Lab Exam Voucher: another lab exam voucher will be issued with a 12-month validity period.
- System Requirements: Remote lab exams require the use of a PC running Windows 7 or higher. Other operating systems or Windows images on MACs are not supported. Please view the connectivity recommendations for our lab environment and our Speed Test utility. Your PC must have an internal or external webcam, with a minimum resolution of 640x480 @ 10 fps, to prominently display your face and testing room. Functioning audio and a working microphone are also required - headsets, headphones, or any devices that cover your ears are not permitted. You may use a wired or wireless mouse, as well as an external monitor or dual monitors. Note if you use dual monitors, then you must keep your terminal session on your primary monitor. External keyboards are allowed, but they must be wired - wireless keyboards are prohibited. We have experienced a few issues with German, French, and Chinese external keyboards. Prior to your exam, please ensure that you complete the ‘Remote Lab Exam Application Verification Guide’, which includes validating your keyboard's mapping with the equipment you intend to use on your exam date. The ‘Remote Lab Exam Application Verification Guide’ will be included in the meeting invitation that you receive 30 days prior to your exam.
- Testing Environment: You can test at home or in your office. Wherever you test, you should be in a walled room, with a closed door and without distractions. No one else is permitted in the room during your testing session. During the check-in process, you will be asked to use your webcam to show your work area, which will be checked by the proctor prior to exam launch. You may use a dry erase board during your exam. Your dry erase board must be placed on your desk, on a stand, or affixed to a wall behind you. If it is free standing or located behind you, then it must remain visible on your webcam at all times - you may stand to write on it only after requesting and receiving permission from your proctor. You will be required to erase your dry erase board, and then show your proctor that it has been done, prior to any scheduled break and at the end of your exam. Please ensure that your desktop is clean and that you are not within arm’s reach of books, notepads, sticky notes, papers, pens, pencils, and other writing instruments/objects beyond what is noted above. Additional computers must be unplugged and turned off. Items on the wall with writing on them, such as a dry erase board, will be inspected. If your workspace does not pass a room scan, you are not permitted to proceed with taking the exam.
- Proof of Identification: You will be required to present a current government-issued ID. The name on your ID must match the name in your Juniper profile. Acceptable forms of a government-issued ID include: driver’s license, passport, military ID, identification card (national/state/province identity card), alien registration card (green card, permanent resident, visa), and government-issued local language ID (not in roman characters and accepted only if issued by the country in which you are testing).
- Exam Monitoring and Privacy: A JNCIE proctor will monitor your testing session in real time so that your face, voice, desk, workspace, and screen will be captured. You understand, acknowledge, and agree that you have no right to privacy at your current location during the exam testing session and you explicitly waive any and all claims asserting a right to individual privacy or other similar claims. At any point during your exam, your proctor may request for you to use your webcam to show your testing environment and may request to take control of your system for any unspecified reason. Failing to comply with either request, will result in your exam being terminated.
- Prohibited Items: During your exam, you may not access the following types of personal items: mobile phones, headphones or headsets (wired or bluetooth), handheld computers or other electronic devices, pagers, watches, wallets, purses, hats (or other head coverings), bags, coats, books, notes, or any other materials not specifically approved by your proctor. Watches must be removed and placed out of sight/reach during the exam. Eating, smoking, and chewing gum are prohibited.
- Exam Assistance: Your JNCIE proctor will support technical issues as needed and answers questions that you may have during the exam. Note the proctor cannot answer questions related to exam content. You may not receive any assistance from other individuals during your exam, and you may not allow other individuals to enter your testing location. If another person enters the room while you are testing, your exam will be terminated. Your exam will also be terminated for any use of electronic communication, such as IM, email, and so on.
- Exam Security and Program Policy Violations: Your remote lab exam proctor may at his or her sole discretion terminate your exam for any of the reasons noted on our Policies and Exam Security webpage or for any other real or perceived exam security violations. The decision to terminate is final and there is not an appeals process. Additionally, the Juniper Networks Certification Program (JNCP) may at its sole discretion revoke any and all certifications you may have earned, and ban you, permanently or for designated periods, from earning future certifications, for any program violations. Furthermore, you understand, acknowledge, and agree that if your testing session is terminated, you will not receive a test fee refund, credit, or voucher.
