The Enterprise Routing and Switching
track enables you to demonstrate competence with networking technology in general
and HPE Juniper Networking enterprise routing and switching platforms. JNCIE-ENT is
at the
pinnacle of the enterprise routing and switching certification track. The practical
exam is designed to validate your ability to deploy, configure, manage and
troubleshoot Junos-based enterprise routing and switching platforms.
Throughout the six-hour exam, you will
build an enterprise network infrastructure consisting of multiple routers and
switching devices. You will perform system configuration on all devices and
configure protocols and features, such as IGPs, BGP, EVPN, Layer 2 features, routing
policies, and class of service.
This track contains four certifications:
-
JNCIA-Junos:
Junos, Associate. For details, see JNCIA-Junos
.
-
JNCIS-ENT:
Enterprise Routing and Switching, Specialist. For details, see JNCIS-ENT
.
-
JNCIP-ENT:
Enterprise Routing and Switching, Professional. For details, see JNCIP-ENT
.
-
JNCIE-ENT:
Enterprise Routing and Switching, Expert. For details, see the
sections below.

Description |
| System Management and Monitoring
|
In an Enterprise network that comprises multiple enterprise devices deployed in multiple buildings, a successful candidate will:
- Configure, modify, and troubleshoot basic Junos system features including user accounts, authentication methods, configuration archival, and system logging.
- Create, modify, and validate stateless control plane protection based on specific restrictions while ensuring that additional traffic is handled appropriately.
- Deploy, modify, and troubleshoot OP, event, and commit scripts to achieve precise behaviors.
- Implement and modify configurations required to secure streaming telemetry data based on specific requirements and expected behaviors.
- Create, modify, and validate SNMP configurations to ensure communication and traps are sent based on specific events and activity.
- Configure and validate aggregated Ethernet interfaces.
|
| Layer 2 Switching and Features
|
In an Enterprise network that comprises multiple enterprise devices deployed in multiple buildings, a successful candidate will:
- Configure, modify, and validate Ethernet Layer 2 interfaces to ensure proper handling of tagged and untagged traffic.
- Deploy, modify, and troubleshoot Layer 2 loop prevention using a spanning tree protocol given a set of behavioral requirements.
- Deploy and validate Layer 2 security features including BPDU protection, DHCP security, MAC limiting, as well as 802.1x authentication methods and behaviors.
|
| Layer 3 Switching and Features
|
In an Enterprise network that comprises multiple enterprise devices deployed in multiple buildings, a successful candidate will:
- Create, modify, and troubleshoot various OSPF configurations and adjacencies.
- Create, modify, and troubleshoot various BGP configurations and adjacencies.
- Create, modify, and troubleshoot numerous routing policies to ensure that the proper routes are received, selected, and advertised between peers.
- Implement and modify configurations required to enable Internet access using NAT using an SRX Series device.
- Deploy and optimize multicast communication in various scenarios including EVPN environments.
- Implement and optimize multicast traffic delivery based on various PIM deployment scenarios including RP strategies and IGMP Snooping.
|
| EVPN and Services
|
In an Enterprise network that comprises multiple enterprise devices deployed in multiple buildings, a successful candidate will:
- Configure, verify, and troubleshoot EVPN and VXLAN to establish communication between buildings given specific requirements.
- Configure, verify and troubleshoot a VLAN-aware or VLAN-based EVPN using the MAC-VRF instance type to provide Layer 2 connectivity between multiple buildings.
- Deploy, modify, and troubleshoot CRB or ERB EVPN-VXLAN topologies based on network requirements.
- Implement and validate ECMP load balancing and multihoming.
|
| Class of Service (CoS)
|
In an Enterprise network that comprises multiple enterprise devices deployed in multiple buildings, a successful candidate will:
- Classify, prioritize, and modify traffic based on specific requirements to ensure consistent handling throughout the network.
